Oregon’s business leadership is feeling more upbeat than it has in the past four years. A solid one-third of our respondents said they expect new hires over the next year, primarily driven by an increase in sales. However, low demand and poor economic conditions are still barriers to job creation. A majority of the 660 respondents expect technology, manufacturing and health care to be the state’s key job creators during the next decade. CFM Strategic Communications conducted the survey of Oregon Business readers in late January.
