Adidas America president Mark King and brand head Eric Liedtke are “rumored” candidates for CEO position after Herbert Hainer steps down in March 2017.

The Portland Business Journal reports on the duo’s Portland connections:

Liedtke spent the first 10 years of his career with the sportswear company in Portland. He was promoted to the company’s executive board in Germany, a group of the company’s five top corporate executives, last year.  King is the Portland-based president of the company’s North American operations, a key battleground that has shown progress since he took the job in mid-2014.

Portland is home to Nike Inc., the North American headquarters of Adidas and Columbia Sportswear Co. in addition to numerous other resources for sportswear companies. In recent months Under Armour and Mizuno have announced plans to increase the size of their Portland offices.

The rumors were first reported by Fortune Magazine.
