Oregon’s technology economy thought to be the strongest it’s been since the mid-2000s.

An IPO isn’t the only way to measure a startup’s success, of course, but it’s an important metric of a business ecosystem’s health and a key wealth generator. That’s especially true in Oregon and other states that rely primarily on income taxes to fund state government.

I had 12 companies on my informal list of Silicon Forest IPO prospects a year ago, including one in Clark County. My list included Act-On, Consumer Cellular, Elemental Technologies, Integra, Jama Software, Janrain, nLight Corp., Simple, Tripwire, Urban Airship, Viewpoint and Webtrends.
