Fewer, bigger companies are the result of several dealers and brands being lost to the great recession of 2008.

One of the largest publicly-traded dealer groups is Medford-based Lithia Motors. Having just completed acquisition of the DHC Auto Group, Lithia now owns 128 dealerships, including seven in the Portland area. Lithia is projecting revenue of between $7.4 and $7.6 billion in 2015. In the past year, they’ve added Cadillac of Portland and Buick/GMC of Beaverton to their portfolio.

Also moving into the Portland area market is the Findlay Automotive Group from Las Vegas, Nevada. Their new Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram store in Wilsonville is their 28th location across five western states.
