He succeeds company cofounder Scott Kveton, who stepped down in July when The Oregonian reported a former girlfriend had accused him of sexual assault. Chief financial officer Mike Temple, who has been running the company since Kveton left, remains CFO.
In a blog post announcing his hire, Caine said he wants to duplicate the growth Citrix Online enjoyed, expanding from $40 million to $600 million. (Privately held Urban Airship does not report financial results.) He will also join Urban Airship’s board, filling a slot Kveton left when he stepped down.
