Ted Pappas, whose Hillsboro company Big Bottom Whiskey was only a year old at the time, dreamed of making booze from scratch. But because of the high startup costs of distilling, he got his business started as an independent bottler by blending whiskeys, each aged in different barrels, to his liking.
Big Bottom has recently released its newest “flagship product,” an American blended whiskey called Barlow Trail.
