The Coburg Road location is the organic grocer’s eighth store in Oregon, and 88th in the country.

Natural Grocers began in 1955, when Margaret and Phillip Isely began selling whole grain bread door-to-door and lending nutrition education books to the people they met, according to the corporate history.

Over the years, the company has grown into a national chain with annual revenues of $430.7 million, added groceries, and changed its name to reflect that. It is still run by the Iselys’ children.
