Colorado-based grocery chain Natural Grocers opens its Salem store tomorrow, adding competition to the area’s organic food industry.
Natural Grocers, located less than two miles away, is practically a neighbor of LifeSource. A few customers have wandered into LifeSource and asked if it was the new Natural Grocers, Watson said.
Natural Grocers’ approximately 16,000-square-foot Salem location is the company’s second Oregon store. In March, the retail chain opened a store in Medford.
Roger Noyes, store manager for Medford Food Co-op, a grocery specializing in natural and organic foods, said the arrival of Natural Grocers made a noticeable difference.
