Portland General Electric agreed to reduce its requested rate hike to 1%.

The utility had filed a request in February seeking an increase of nearly 5 percent to pay for investments in a wind farm in Washington and a natural gas fired power plant at Clatskanie.

PGE is the largest investor owned utility in Oregon. It serves more than 800,000 customers.
