Alan Davis, the owner of the 40-year-old business, is closing the bar for personal reasons.

Produce Row, which started life as a breakfast restaurant, didn’t develop its reputation as a craft beer hub until it was bought by Mike McMenamin, who went on to co-found the McMenamins brewpub and hotel chain, in 1974. Produce Row has been celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

“I don’t want you to be disappointed,” Davis said. “You’re not going to get particularly detailed responses from me. I’m going to be vague. Someone will either understand that and respect it or they’re not going to get it and that’s not my problem.”
