The Portland-based bike share program is in the final stages of securing a deal with REQX Ventures.

Under the expected deal, REQX Ventures would take a controlling stake in Alta Bicycle Share for an unspecified amount of money, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Alta has made a splash from its Portland base, even generating a bit of business for its Oregon business peers. However, the company has so far been stymied in its efforts to actually start a bike-share program in its hometown.
