Texas-based Berry Family of Nurseries will close its nursery near Cornelius and lay off the 100 workers employed there.
The Cornelius site, known as BFN Operations Oregon, grows evergreen shrubs and trees and produces holiday greenery on 361 acres, according to the company website.
BFN becomes the second Cornelius-area nursery to lay off dozens of workers this year. Glenn Walters Nursery cut 118 jobs after losing a major customer at the start of the year.
