Turnout blahs: With not much drama on the ballot, statewide turnout looked to be low, certainly well below 50 percent. More than half of all ballots cast came in the last few days, which means a majority weren’t mailed but dropped off.

Make history or make change: If he wins the general election, Gov. John Kitzhaber would pad his record as Oregon’s longest serving governor.

GMO? No! Voters in two Oregon counties, Jackson and Josephine banned the use of genetically modified seeds despite big spending by the food industry to block the measures.
