Gov. John Kitzhaber thinks job creation, public safety, tax reform and negative population growth in rural Oregon will all play a role in determining the state’s next governor.

Gov. John Ktizhaber thinks his re-election race will be about more than “a failed website.”

Kitzhaber is the presumptive nominee for his party, but five Republicans — including Rep. Dennis Richardson, R-Central Point — are vying to be his challenger.

Richardson is campaigning in part on the failures of Cover Oregon, saying that the “house cleaning” won’t be done until the governor is voted out of office.
