GlobeSherpa settled a patent infringement case filed by Bytemark Inc., its New York City-based rival.

In December Bytemark Inc. filed suit against GlobeSherpa in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia claiming GlobeSherpa’s technology infringes on Bytemark’s patent surrounding “method and system for distributing electronic tickets with visual display.”

The suit was filed in Virginia court because both companies were competing for a contract with the Virginia Railway Express transit system. According to VRE’s procurement website, GlobeSherpa was selected for the contract.
