The electrical system upgrade “is one of the most complex projects we’ve worked on,” said Bruce Henrickson, an Army Corps of Engineers public affairs specialist in the Walla Walla District. It includes the installation of touchscreen controls and a safer, lower-voltage electrical system.
Olsson Industrial Electric Inc. this week was awarded the four-year contract worth $34.99 million to do the upgrade, which Henrickson likened to “having to replace the heart and arteries while keeping the body alive.”
