Oregon InC is offering funding for projects that help build and support new and emerging industries in the state.

Oregon InC, a public-private partnership, has put out a request for proposals to increase the ability to innovate in five key industries where it says Oregon already has a competitive advantage. These include advanced manufacturing; clean technology and renewable energy; forestry and wood products; high technology; and outdoor gear and apparel.

The partnership is offering grants of up to $3.5 million each, with total funding determined by Gov. John Kitzhaber’s office. Grants cannot be used for construction, but can be used to pay for equipment at universities or private business, as well as technologies that improve an industry’s ability to innovate.
