Two-thirds of all private employer job vacancies in Northwest Oregon and the Willamette Valley paid less than $15 an hour last year, according to the state’s 2013 Oregon Job Vacancy Survey. These results are for Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn, Benton, Lane, Clatsop, Tillamook, Columbia and Lincoln counties.
About 36 percent of the job vacancies in Northwest Oregon and the Willamette Valley were for positions that had no educational requirements. Thirty-three percent only required a high school diploma.
