A rise in hotel bookings increased the industry’s agency board’s expectations for 2014.

After years of being battered by the recession, things are starting to look brighter for Lane County’s travel and tourism industry.

“Our hotel occupancy rate is up 7 percent (for 2013),” Travel Lane County CEO Kari Westlund said, more than the statewide increase of 4.8 percent and the national increase of only 1.5 percent.
