Oregon State University’s agriculture college is attracting record enrollment.

As [Dean Dan] Arp told the state Board of Agriculture this month, enrollment at the college set a record this year, with 2,381 undergrads and 450 graduate students.

The college’s fledgling fermentation programs and Wine Research Institute are attracting students and industry support. It was OSU researchers who first identified the genetically engineered wheat found growing in eastern Oregon. An international university ranking service said OSU has the eighth best ag program in the world.
