Enrollment at the University of Oregon declined slightly this fall, but increased in the populations that guarantee economic success: Californians and international students.

UO students from the Golden State grew to 4,852, up 2 percent from fall 2012. UO students from foreign lands grew to 3,069, up 16 percent from the previous fall.

The tuition paid by Californians, international students and others from outside Oregon is a “critical funding source” for the UO, according to a campus document created for the soon-to-be-seated UO governing board.
