Fox News began employing 55-inch LCD touch screen technology from Wilsonville-based Perceptive Pixel in its new studio this week.

Perceptive Pixel started in New York in 2006 and opened its Oregon office in 2009. Microsoft bought it last year, when the company had 70 employees. Since then, Wilsonville operations have expanded significantly as the operation’s main research and manufacturing site.

Fox’s new set and its oversized screens have already been the subject of a good deal of online snark, but the truth is that Perceptive Pixel was already a mainstay on national TV news. CNN, ABC and others featured its technology during last November’s presidential election.
