Beaverton-based Cascade Microtech acquired German company ATT Advanced Temperature Test Systems for $27.7 million.

ATT Systems made tools for testing chips during the manufacturing process at a wide range of temperatures, from about 76 degrees below zero to about 570 degrees.

Cascade Microtech said it’s pursuing new markets and expanding its product portfolio. The company said ATT’s technology is applicable to some of the latest chip manufacturing techniques, including three-dimensional transistors.
