A state-financed deal to bring a Solexant thin-film solar manufacturing plant to Gresham has fallen apart.
San Jose-based Solexant Corp. was in line for $25 million in loans from the State of Oregon and City of Gresham. Plans called for the manufacturer to build a 100,000-square-foot facility with 100 employees initially and as many as 170 once it was running at full capacity.
But Solexant missed “technological milestones” and financial steps required to lock in the loans, said an official from the Oregon Department of Energy.
