The thin-film solar company says an Oregon location looks “promising” as it receives more millions in a third round of financing.
California company Solexant, who many hope will build a thin-film solar plant in Oregon, has received $41.5 million in a third round of financing.
The company is eyeing locations near Gresham, Fairview and Wilsonville, and say the deal looks “promising.”
The Oregon Energy Department has precertified Solexant for a business-energy tax credit to cover half of $37.5 million in eligible costs.
The company is also seeking a $25 million loan from the state agency. If approved, the loan would be the largest extended by the state energy-loan program, which has operated for three decades.
