Eugene real estate roundup

Developer Steve Lee plans Addyson Creek project; downtown "innovation hub" to open in May.

The Addyson Creek project will add 136 houses to the Santa Clara area of Eugene.

[Developer Steve Lee] recently known for redeveloping the shuttered Monaco Coach Corp. plant in Coburg into a thriving industrial park, paid $2.55 million last year for a 34-acre filbert orchard north of Irvington Drive. Half the orchard has been cleared to make way for the first phase of Addyson Creek, consisting of 66 housing lots.

“My family, we haven’t built a subdivision in Eugene in about 10 years,” said Lee, who’s developing Addyson Creek with his son, Ryan, and in partnership with Windermere Real Estate.

The collaboration center for entrepreneurs at 942 Olive Street that houses the University of Oregon’s Tyler Invention Greenhouse, the UO Product Design program and the Eugene Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network Accelerator will open this May.

Program directors say the synergistic relationship between the three occupants of the 12,800-square-foot space will mean greater cross-pollination between students, entrepreneurs, researchers and others engaged in innovation activities.

The building will also provide outreach opportunities for high school students and local residents to learn more about sustainability, product design and entrepreneurship.
