OREGONLIVE.COM: Erratic tech entrepreneur will launch an unlikely campaign for president.

The antivirus software company McAfee founded in 1987 and named for himself made him a millionaire, but McAfee sold his stake in the company and lived an increasingly impoverished and erratic life abroad – culminating in 2012 when the government of Belize named him a “person of interest” in a murder there.

After leaving that country McAfee arrived in Portland early in 2013. He had no apparent ties to the city, but declared he would collaborate on a graphic novel about his life with illustrator Chad Essley.
