Portland social media startup Chirpify raised an additional $4 million in backing from investors with ties to the NBA and record label Interscope.

Chirpify has already made inroads into the entertainment industry with its online commerce technology, which enables purchases on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks.

Investors announced today include David Cohen, former Interscope vice chairman; and Idan Ravin, an attorney and athletic trainer who has worked with a number of NBA stars. Teso said people like Cohen can help establish connections to potential customers.
