Portland startup Chirpify has raised $1.3 million in venture backing.

“Everybody is trying to become that ubiquitous wallet,” said Chris Teso, Chirpify’s founder and chief executive. His company taps Twitter’s ubiquity on PCs and phones to make a purchase as easy as a single Tweet. 

Founded two years ago, and originally known as Sell Simply, Chirpify gained geek cred when marketing firms used its technology to create a “Tweet a Beer” service at the annual SXSW interactive festival in Austin last month.
