Oregon’s greenhouse gas emissions down


Greenhouse gas emissions have decreased 8% in Oregon between 2005 and 2010, according to the Department of Environmental Quality.

Greenhouse gas emissions have decreased 8% in Oregon between 2005 and 2010, according to the Department of Environmental Quality.

So what has Oregon been doing well to cut back on its emissions? Part of the results could be attributed to a temporary downsize as a result of the recession and Oregonians cutting back on their own energy use. Another factor is more efficient technology, especially with cars.

Additionally, emissions from electricity at the residential and commercial level have gone down. Oregonians are taking advantage of more efficient lighting and driving down related emissions.
