Beaverton is looking to ease food cart restrictions and create food cart pods in the city.

Currently in Beaverton, licensed food carts can stay in one location for up to seven hours. Some owners say this duration is prohibitive, especially for bigger trucks that are difficult to move.

The city also lacks any regulations that would allow multiple food carts to muster on a single lot, though Beaverton has around 50 sites where food cart pods could be created, Beaverton Economic Development Manager Alma Flores told the planning commission.
