The Oregon Transportation Commission approved $2 million to fund four Portland-area road projects to boost economic growth.

The commission, an arm of the Oregon Department of Transportation, allocates so-called Immediate Opportunity Fund money to assist economic growth through streets and road improvements.

It’s a discretionary fund that is tapped only when sources of financial support are unavailable or insufficient, ODOT said.
