Three commercial buildings, all of them used for storage, were among those damaged, McÂMinnville Fire Chief Rich Leipfert said. The porch roof on one nearby home sustained minor damage, Leipfert said.
A two-person National Weather Service storm survey team dispatched to the scene confirmed that the damage was caused by a tornado but did not immediately determine its wind speed or strength, Weather Service meteorologist Miles Higa said Thursday night from Portland.
