Oregon liquor authorities will vote Wednesday morning on whether to add a 25-cent-a-bottle surcharge to the price of spirits.

State lawmakers are counting on the extra money — an estimated $16.2 million — to help balance the 2013-15 budget, and they’ve sweetened the pot by promising to boost the cut for liquor sales agents for the first time in 10 years.
