Finding work after graduating college still remains a challenge in the wake of the Great Recession.

Employers said they plan to hire only 2 percent more graduates from the class of 2013 than they hired last year from the class of 2012, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The association surveyed nearly 200 employers nationwide in the spring, including CH2M Hill, the Denver-based engineering firm founded in Corvallis by Oregon State University students; Dick’s Sporting Goods; Levi Strauss & Co. and Procter & Gamble Co.

Tough economic times that have delayed the launch of careers and sent some graduates back home to live with their parents have prompted some people to question the value of a college degree.
