The baby boomer’s children — known as the “millennial” generation — are now mostly all old enough to legally purchase alcohol and are doing so with a vengeance, said Steve Thomson, executive vice president at King Estate Winery near Lorane and a member of the Oregon Wine Board. Combine that with a recovering economy and it equals sales growth.
“Business is roaring back as people start to go back to dining out,” Thomson said. “We’re on our seventh straight year of double-digit growth.”
