Six neighborhood associations oppose a third bridge across the Willamette River.
Salem is one of the entities involved in the Salem River Crossing — others include Marion and Polk counties, city of Keizer, Salem-Keizer School District, Salem-Keizer Transit District — as part of a larger effort to enhance river crossing conditions to accommodate growth. All entities must agree with a conclusive plan.
Meanwhile, members of a faction opposed to a third bridge claimed Friday that six of Salem’s 19 neighborhood associations passed resolutions in opposition to the bridge: Lansing, South Central, Highland, Southeast Salem, Northeast Neighbors and West Salem.
