But the economic gap among counties stretched from 6.1 percent in Benton to twice that in Crook, Grant and Harney, according to Oregon Employment Department data released Tuesday. A map on the agency’s blog illustrates the disparity.
“The economy is not as good right now as everybody says it is,” said Robert Scott Flores, of Gresham, hunting for an IT-related job at a Mt. Hood Community College hiring fair last week.
