Bi-Mart plans to open a third store in Linn County, if it can buy 3.5 acres east of the Sweet Home Police Department.
The site is already zoned for construction of a retail store.
Funds have been placed in escrow and Bi-Mart is doing its due diligence concerning environmental testing and ODOT access permitting to complete the transaction.
The Eugene-based, employee-owned retailer has 73 stores in Oregon, Washington and Idaho and will open a new store in Aberdeen, Wash., next week. Each 30,000-square-foot store stocks about 40,000 items ranging from heath care to groceries to automotive.
