Construction is moving rapidly on Apple’s new Prineville data center.

Apple paid Crook County $5.6 million last year for 160 acres on the edge of town. The company has said little about its plans, other than that it plans to employ “dozens” when the facility opens, and that it will power the facility with renewable energy.

Plans filed with the city describe two 338,000-square-foot buildings, with room for more. Each is more than double the size of a typical Costco.
