The legislation appears to be going nowhere, but lawmakers’ interest shows the intensity of Oregon’s desire to lure the mammoth project — and potential obstacles that might drive the facility elsewhere.
Azalea is the project’s code name. Within the chip industry, insiders are convinced Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is behind the project.
