The City of Portland granted land-use approval for new improvement projects at the Oregon Zoo.
Specifically, the city granted land-use approval for a new conservation education facility, and improved exhibits for polar bears, primates and rhinos. Those projects may take as long as eight years to complete.
The zoo applied early for land-use approval on a handful of projects so construction could move ahead. A water purification system in the penguin exhibit and the zoo’s new veterinary medical center are complete.
