The eighth annual Oregon Truffle Festival drew everyone from foodies to local businesspeople to Eugene.
[The community] support comes from two disparate groups — supporters of the Oregon Country Fair, the iconic annual counter-culture event, and a variegated collection of small and large businesses, award-winning chefs, a community college and the local tourism agency, Travel Lane County.
“The connection between a high-end food festival and a hippie festival is a fascinating thing,” Lefevre said. “But one of the ways the Country Fair contributes to the local community is by generating a pool of skilled volunteers.”
