State parks could become the next place in Oregon where tobacco use is prohibited.

This month, the use of smoking and chewing tobacco was banned along the perimeter of most state offices as ordered by Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber.

But the governor’s crackdown on tobacco has just begun. The same executive order that compelled nicotine-addicted state workers to puff on public sidewalks eventually could ban smoking at state parks and recreation areas.
