Pamplin Media buys 6 Oregon newspapers


Pamplin Media Group, Oregon’s largest community news organization, has expanded its reach with the acquisition of six weekly newspapers from Eagle Newspapers Inc., a Salem-based company.

Pamplin Media Group, Oregon’s largest community news organization and a subsidiary of R.B. Pamplin Corp., has expanded its reach with the acquisition of six weekly newspapers from Eagle Newspapers Inc., a Salem-based company.

The move gives the group owned by Robert B. Pamplin Jr., 24 papers around the Portland-Salem region. The papers will become part of the Community Newspapers arm of Pamplin’s media holdings.

Mark Garber, president of the Portland Tribune and Community Newspapers, said no personnel changes are planned at the six publications.
