Portland-based fold up electric bike designer Conscious Commuter wants to raise $1.5 million in debt financing.
In October, the Portland company was selected by Lexus as a finalist in a design competition. Conscious Commuter was beat out by its competitor — a Los Angeles-based company with a standup scooter design — in that match-up, which would have netted $25,0000. The company raised $25,000 on the fundraising website Kickstarter last year.
