Nike’s request for special legislation on a favorable tax structure includes language that would make Intel ineligible.

Testifying at today’s legislative hearing, Kitzhaber told the economic development committee that he now wants the language excluding Intel out of the bill.

The language in question refers to the state’s Strategic Investment Program, special tax breaks negotiated between Oregon counties and large employers. SIP exempts companies from taxes on their equipment.
