Facebook’s Prineville data center son an Innovation by Design award from Fast Company magazine.
Of the Prineville data center, Fast Company’s judges said “This building is one massive airflow machine: By capturing outside air and cooling it with pressurized mist, no air-conditioning is required for the servers within.”
Other Portland-based creations were finalists for the awards including, in the industrial category, Ziba Design’s Jumpseat, a compact folding seat for theater seating installed in the Portland-based design firm’s own auditorium.
