Portland Fashion Week has been reassembled into Fashionxt, a showcase of clothing and green technology.
The name switch initially threw off some designers, retailers and business leaders, who weren’t clear on the goal of the new concept. [Executive producer Tito Chowdhury’s] persistent networking, however, kept the event afloat.
The show is now less about apparel than it is about Chowdhury’s vision for fashion inspired by eco-friendly lifestyle gadgets. For example, he partnered with Portland-based Boxx to feature the company’s electric scooters. Seth Aaron Henderson and Viktor Luna, who competed on “Project Runway” (Henderson won Season 7, Luna was third in Season 9), will also reveal a collection inspired by Intel’s personal cloud technology.
