Oregon State University wave energy researchers have narrowed their test site search to Reedsport and Newport.

Belinda Batten, director of the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center, said the center has applied for $8 million in initial funding for the $25 million project. Half of the first installment would come from the Department of Energy, and half from non-federal matching dollars such as Oregon tax credits, funds from the Oregon Wave Energy Trust and other sources.
